Picture This: Wouter Weylandt - Two Years On

When Mark Cavendish held aloft the number '108' on the podium today nobody needed to ask what the number symbolised. It's two years to the day that the much loved Wouter Weylandt sadly passed away during a tricky descent on a stage in the 2011 Giro d'Italia - 108 was his race number that day. Time passes (very quickly I might add) but memories of that day and of Weylandt remain with both the riders and the fans - a reminder of just how dangerous this sport can be even for the most skilled and respected riders in the world.
