Transfers: Ins, Outs And The Rumour Mill - Part 5

This time of year (Paris-Tours, Tour of Beijing) sees riders without contracts for next year bust a gut to show themselves at the front of the race in a bid to get noticed by potential employers - but the transfers will keep coming right through the Autumn and Winter months. Here is the latest amongst the movers and shakers since part 4. (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4)

Confirmed Movers
  • Joe Dombrowski (Bontrager-Livestrong U23) to Sky
  • Ian Boswell (Bontrager-Livestrong U23) to Sky
  • Gabriel Rasch (IAM Cycling) to Sky
  • Heinrich Haussler (Garmin-Sharp) to IAM Cycling
  • Matti Breschel (Rabobank) to Saxobank-Tinkoff Bank
  • Roman Kreuziger (Astana) to Saxobank-Tinkoff Bank
  • Jack Bobridge (Orican-GreenEDGE) to Rabobank
  • Rory Sutherland (UnitedHealthcare) to Saxobank-Tinkoff bank)
  • Grega Bole (Lampre) to Vacansoleil-DCM
  • Gediminas Bagdonas (AnPost-Sean Kelly) to AG2R La Mundiale
  • Matteo Pulucchi (Europcar) to IAM Cycling
  • Danilo Hondo (Lampre) to Radioshack-Nissan Trek (RSNT)
  • Daniel Moreno stays with Katusha
  • Romain Bardet stays with AG2R La Mundiale
  • Jelle Vanendert stays with Lotto-Belisol
  • Andre Greipel stays with Lotto-Belisol
  • Adam Hansen stays with Lotto-Belisol
  • Jens Voigt stays with RSNT
The Rumour Mill
  • Rumours that Joaquim Rodriguez has 'considered' a move though this is likely just a move to get a better contract from Katusha, who will be keen to keep hold of the World Number 1.
  • Joost Posthuma may be leaving RSNT for a spot at Argos-Shimano
  • Stefano Garzelli may quit Acqua & Sapone to take a role at Saxobank-Tinkoff Bank
There are plenty of others signing extensions to their contracts but I have tried to stick to those who have been linked previously with moves or are particularly big names. Some other points worth noting are:
  • Sky continue to sign climbers and TT's as they move forward with plans to dominate all three Grand Tours next year. Mark Cavendish is waiting to hear from Sky team management concerning his pretty obvious exit and the small matter of an early release fee.
  • Jon Tiernan-Locke is quoted on other sites as a confirmed signing for Sky - though this is not the case it does look to be a done deal.
  • News is thin on the ground regarding some of the bigger names currently at RSNT whom many of us expected to disband at the end of the season following internal troubles and problems with pay. Many riders have signed extensions and some have left other teams for a spot on the RSNT roster - No word as of yet from Fabian Cancellara or indeed Andy and Frank Schleck, though news about the Schlecks may not come until Frank's doping proceedings have been resolved...
The fun and games continue....
