Endura: Castilla y Leon and Route du Sud

The Endura cycling team have been given invites to this years Castilla y Leon and Route du Sud I can confirm. There were worries that the Vuelta Castilla y Leon wouldn't go ahead this year due to funding/sponsor issues, but the 2.1 race is to remain in the form of a 3 day stage race rather than the usual 5. Exciting me about the Route du Sud though is this...

This is stage 2 of last years race, the deciding stage for the general classification. Although the 2012 route has not yet been published, the 4 day French stage race usually has a couple of mountain stages and an up-hill finish nestled within. Its definitely a race that would suit Jon Tiernan-Locke, hence my excitement. I will do an in depth preview of the 2012 route when it is announced.

Both races are a great addition to Enduras already busy European schedule and show just how far the team has come. The team are currently racing in the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali in Italy, where Iker Camano Ortuzar and Paul Voss sit fourth and fith respectively in the general classification. Unfortunately my predictions earlier in the week have not come to fruition as JTL lost over 2 minutes today on the leaders for reasons yet to be confirmed bu tomorrows queen stage could be his moment to shine. Endura are also racing in the Tour de Normandie where Ian Wilkinson took the win on stage three and sits 5th overall in the race. The team are also first in the teams classification.
